zaisu

We think of chairs as a small living space for a person, where you dine, read or work. When you sit on a chair for a long period of time, you might straighten your back, or bend backwards, or cross your legs. My thoughts on "a comfortable chair" is a chair that could hold any position comfortably and won't get tired. 

Compared to a normal chair, people take more positions on a zaisu, like crossing their legs or throwing it forward. So it was difficult for me to find the right balance to hold all those variations, and was hesitant to make it as a product.

A high quality backrest carved out from natural wood, particular to solving those problems. I concentrated solely on this point, and excluded everything else, which made this simple and comfortable little living space.
